REVERSE ENGINEERED BLUEPRINT
For this design task, I was provided an example module on D2L from an Online - Asynchronous course at DePaul and was asked to create the module blueprint that could have been used to develop the module. When designing a new learning experience, I believe it to be important to employ backward design - starting from the learning outcomes and then mapping out all learning activities to ensure that they are aligned and related to those outcomes. This example blueprint does just that: I have mapped the learning outcomes, assessments, learning activities, and instructional materials to ensure that each component of the module aligns to at least one of the desired learning outcomes. The 'Notes, Reminders, and Questions' section at the bottom of the blueprint is a space to ask questions and make notes about the blueprint and is intended to bolster communication between instructional designer and faculty member or subject matter expert.
